Thai Food in Berlin

You’re thinking, ‘Why do I want to eat Thai in Germany?! Bring on the bratwurst!’ Yes, well, believe it or not it can be hard to find German restaurants in Berlin. I am sure locals know all the spots, but as a tourist, I came across few. Sure, we did eat fab German grub at Dike Wirtin and Leibnizklause, but the rest of the time we were munching Thai, Indian and of course Italian (most popular food in the world?). Plus, German food is not what I would call ‘diet-friendly’, in general, and so if you’re looking for a lighter meal Asian in Berlin is the way to go!

Plus, dinner at Thai Food Restaurant (yep, that’s the name: Thai Food…not giving it too many points in the creativity department) was delicious, quickly served, and inexpensive. We had a couple bowls of tom kha, a curry dish and a heaping plate of Pad Thai, all of which came to about 20 euros. Not bad. Remember too, that 20 euro bucks is quite a bit more in USD, so closer to $30.00.

Thai Food Restaurant is cozy, eclectically decorated and easy to get to if you’re staying in West Berlin’s Charlottenburg, which we were. On the same street as Thai Food Restaurant there are countless other Asian restaurants so if you’re not up for Thai but want some other spicy dish from the East, then this is where to go.
